With today's post, I will take you all to a nostalgic and memorable story of struggles that finally reaped the fruit that we enjoy today by being an inseparable part of constitutional democracy.
It was 1915 when a saint arrived at the land of cultural diversity, a place full of different vernacular languages or I may say it to be a linguistic ferry, known for his brilliant method to win over opposition not by fighting with the mightiest sword or the most advanced weapons of that time but using a simple way i.e. Non-violence and truth.
After coming to India he started his adventure with a strong motivation to make the nation, free of the oppressive imperial government and make the residents of this nation free from all restrictions imposed by the same.
He began his journey to map the country to understand the culture, practices, mundane problems, oppression people faced and a lot more, famously he began "Bharat Darshan", after finishing the task he felt the need of change, change that could overthrow this oppressive Imperial power The Britishers.
In 1916 peasants of the Champaran district of Bihar were in trouble and misery due to the forced indigo plantation policy of the government, people of Champaran took this to Mahatma and he resolved the problem by mass agitation and satyagraha against the local heads.
Will continue with this adventurous journey in my next post, till then stay happy as no one can take it away from you :)
